FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about VITAS research compounds, our quality standards, and how to work with us.

Research Use
What are VITAS research compounds intended for?+

All VITAS products are manufactured and sold exclusively for in vitro laboratory research and scientific study. They are not intended for human or animal consumption, and are not approved by the FDA or any regulatory body for therapeutic use. Purchasers are required to be qualified researchers or institutions with appropriate facilities.

Who can purchase VITAS research compounds?+

VITAS products are available to licensed researchers, academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and qualified biotech laboratories. By placing an order, the purchaser affirms they possess the appropriate credentials and facilities for handling research-grade biochemical compounds. VITAS reserves the right to verify credentials and decline orders.

What does 'research use only' mean?+

Research use only (RUO) designation means that the product is intended solely for in vitro laboratory experiments and preclinical research. RUO products are not approved for clinical or diagnostic use. They may not be administered to humans or animals. They are intended for scientific study of biochemical properties and mechanisms.

Lab Testing
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?+

A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document issued by a qualified third-party laboratory that certifies the identity, purity, and quality specifications of a compound. VITAS provides COAs from accredited analytical laboratories for all available products. COAs include HPLC purity data, mass spectrometry confirmation, and batch numbers for full traceability.

How are VITAS products tested for purity?+

Each batch of VITAS research compounds is tested using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to verify purity, Mass Spectrometry (MS) to confirm molecular identity, and where applicable, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy for structural verification. All testing is performed by independent, accredited third-party laboratories.

Can I download the COA for a specific product?+

Yes. COAs are available on the Lab Testing page and on individual product detail pages where available. Each COA is linked to a specific batch number and test date. If you require a COA for a batch not listed on the website, please contact our team with your batch number and we will provide the documentation.

Storage
How should peptide research compounds be stored?+

Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored at -20°C in a dry, dark environment. Once reconstituted, they should be stored at 4°C and used within the timeframe specified in the product documentation. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. NAD+ and other non-peptide compounds have specific storage requirements listed on their respective product pages.

What is the shelf life of VITAS products?+

Lyophilized peptides stored at -20°C are generally stable for 18 to 24 months from the date of manufacture when stored under recommended conditions. Specific stability data is available on each product's COA. Products should not be used beyond the expiration date printed on the vial label.

Ordering
How do I place an order?+

You can order directly through the VITAS website. Browse the product catalog, select your compound and quantity, and proceed to checkout. All orders ship with temperature-controlled packaging. For institutional or bulk orders, please contact us via the inquiry form.

Will you ship internationally?+

Currently VITAS ships domestically within the United States. International shipping is not yet available. For institutional inquiries about international availability, please contact us directly and we will advise on options.

What is your return policy?+

VITAS does not accept returns. All sales are final. This policy applies to all research compounds without exception, consistent with standard practice for research-grade biochemical products.

Shipping
How are orders shipped?+

All VITAS orders ship with temperature-controlled packaging appropriate for each product. Lyophilized peptides are shipped with cold packs and insulated packaging to maintain stability during transit. Tracking information is provided upon shipment.
